What Differentiates Us

Some Briard kennels breed exclusively for colour, others breed for the show ring, others breed unregistered puppies from parents who don't have a single health test!!

At Cacharel we breed for the all round Briard. A Briard who can compete with honours in the show ring, who can work sheep all day, compete in agility, obedience or be a fabulous family companion. And we have the results on the board to back that statement up!! Yes, we are the most successful breeders for show Briards in Australia, a fact we are very proud of , but we have also made many many families very happy with their companion Briard. We have very high standards for show dogs, and whilst many Briards can be shown . . the question always is . should they be shown . . ?

Our Planned Briard Litters

We have 2 very exciting all fawn litters planned for late 2008. Our English girl 'Ellie' will be bred to our 'Yank'. This litter will combine the very best French bloodlines. Ellie's bloodlines are unique in Australia and we are very much looking forward to these puppies. We expect to get fabulous coats (texture & colour), easy going temperaments with good work ethic and structurally very sound Briards. Ellie has many fans around the country and her pups are eagerly awaited.

The second litter is our Poppy who will be bred to our Moose. These puppies will be the culmination of 25 yrs of breeding. They will go back to our foundation bitch and incorporate all of our imported boys. Once more we expect excellent coats and temperaments. Moose is our resident clown and has one of the best temperaments of any Briard we have known. He is also the only dog of ANY breed in Australia to earn his HSCs herding title. He was the first Briard in the country to earn any sort of herding trial title. Moose is a joy to train. poppy is also a very nice working girl, she has her PT in herding and is a High in Trial winner. Her litter sister is a High in Trial obedience winner.
