left Australian shores as a 12 week old puppy for his
new home in the USA. It was decided by his new owners
not to crop his ears, even though it meant that it
would be more difficult for him to compete evenly in
the show ring. However, his fabulous movement set him
apart and he gained his American Championship with
wins under Breed Specialists and then completed his
Canadian Championship several years later. His breeder
contributed to both Ch's by handling him to one Major
in the USA and gaining 7 Canadian points over a
specialty weekend. Boomer was one of 3 Australian bred
Briards presented at the National Rassemblement
in 2000. He was the only one with a Championship and
made Australian Briard history when he became the
first Australian bred Briard to earn a Selection.
Both French judges commented on his outstandingly
correct Briard gait. He remained as the only Aussie
bred Select dog until his close relative Aust Ch
Trilby Lulu Bear HT was presented at the 2004
Rassemblement where she also gained the coveted Select
status. Boomer's offspring have also done well in the
Selection ring with one of his daughters, Am Ch
Bigtree's Primma Donna being Selected at only 13 mths
of age.
